5. The Sunken Fireplace Hearth Display
If your fireplace is decorative or non-functional, fill the interior hearth with amber glass containers of various scales. Group large amber demijohn jugs, heavy recycled glass cylinders, and pressed-glass chalices inside the firebox. Fill each with varying sizes of battery-operated or traditional pillar candles. When lit, the collective glow mimics the warmth of an active fire without the smoke or intense heat, bringing life to an otherwise empty architectural feature.
